An unhappy The Pearl left the venue that night.
He watched as the Black Window pocket the final two balls with precision to win the doubles match 3-1. The Pearl and his partner were clearly outmatched in this game since all of those racks were technically half run-outs; his team pocketing only one to two balls per rack.
He knows that their team wasn't even worthy of that one rack, that one coming from a crazy kick shot knocking in the 8 ball in the opposite corner, and making the nine at the side at the same time.
Imprinted in his mind were all of his team members falling one-by-one in a blowout fashion to the other team, and his doubles match yielded a similar result. Their opponents were unforgiving; their laughter grating the minds and hearts of his team.
It was done, and all that's left is a heart reflecting the darkness of the outside as he plodded home alone.

Manila to host World Pool Championship
The prestigious World Pool Championships will be held in Manila, November 4-12 this year, marking the first time that the annual event featuring the greatest billiard players in the world will be held in the Philippines.
Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today learned that top officials of Matchroom Sport headed by its chairman, British millionaire Barry Hearn and media director Luke Riches as well as ESPN Star Sports executives will arrive in Manila next week to finalize deals of what reportedly is a done deal.
Matchroom Sport, the giant sports and entertainment company headed by Hearn has long expressed a desire to stage the World Pool Championships in Manila and made this clear during conversations with the recognized "Godfather" of Philippine pool Aristeo "Putch" Puyat and this reporter during the 2004 World Pool Championships in Chinese-Taipei.
The added impetus was that the title was won by the colorful and exciting Alex "The Lion" Pagulayan. In last year’s championships staged in Kaohsiung, teenage sensation Wu Chia Ching defeated fellow Taiwanese Kuo Peng after ousting Filipino "Marvelous" Marlon Manalo in the semi finals.
Hearn who was responsible for changing the face of snooker, shaking up boxing, venturing into soccer and golf and several other sports as head of Matchroom Sport would obviously be pleased that a local group has come to an agreement to stage the World Pool Championships in Manila with the contract details to be finalized upon his arrival.
While hosting the World Pool Championships is a costly exercise the positive media mileage gained is expected to be more than worthwhile especially since pool-crazy Filipinos would love to see 1999 champion Efren "Bata" Reyes, 2004 winner Alex "The Lion" Pagulayan, 2002 runner-up Francisco "Django" Bustamante and promising stars such as "Marvelous" Marlon Manalo match their skills against the finest players from Chinese-Taipei, the US and Europe along with emerging talents from Japan and South Korea.
The local group which will host the event is expected to get substantial support from the government as well as flagship companies in the forefront of support for Philippine sports such as San Miguel Corporation, PLDT-Smart, the Lucio Tan Group of Companies among others.
ESPN Star Sports, the worldwide leader in sports will serve as host broadcaster. However, there will also be a local broadcast counterpart. ESPN Star Sports Harry Davies is expected in Manila next week for the formal signing and press conference.
Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today was informed that the top prize will be the biggest in the history of the World Pool Championships running into six figures.
No venue has been selected as yet but in line for the right to stage the matches are the Philippine International Convention Center, the World Trade Center and billionaire Henry Sy’s Mall of Asia.

The Pearl Needs Polishing
Superbowl, Makati - After months of delay, day one of the Catuwaan Billiards Tournament finally happened last May 24, 2006, 8 - 11 PM. 8 teams composed of 6 members each competed in the first round of the tournament.
Milo, one of the members of group 6 faced off in a singles match against Leo of group 5. The match was dead even; each competitor making several unforced errors during the course of this race-to-three match.
Rack one went to Milo due to an accidental scratch when Leo potted in the nine-ball. The second rack went back and forth until Leo managed to pot in the nine-ball across table. Milo almost managed to steal away the third rack with a two-nine ball combination with ball in hand, but missed by a few milimeters that the nine-ball went out of the hole. Leo managed to win the third rack a few balls after. Milo got extremely lucky in the fourth rack when he missed potting the 6-ball in the corner pocket, but on the rebound, the cue ball hit the 9-ball and went in the side pocket. The deciding match went back and forth until Milo finally potted a mid-range shot at the nine to seal the game at 3-2.
Milo choked big time when he competed along with Ramon in the doubles match against Francis & EJ. The score was 2-1 in favor of Milo & Ramon, and had the chance to seal the victory 3-1. Milo managed to pot three balls straight, 6-8 in different pockets with a very good position for the nine. Just when you thought it was over, Milo missed an easy nine to the top left corner pocket; the ball rattled out for an even easier shot for his opponents. Things were never the same after that miscue, and Milo's team bowed down to the score of 3-2.

A Blue Savior
This time around, it was a convincing win.
Being the only team garnering a perfect score and also logging in the fastest time, team /\/\1L0 3\/3r'/D4'/! managed to win its second pizza in a weekly quiz game.
This week's quiz was all about guessing the words patterned inside a crossword with an overabundance of clues. Coming from a fine arts background with four years of creative writing under his belt and a love for crossword puzzles (he also makes some himself), team lead and only team member, Milo, felt that he had the advantage for this week.
"Once I saw the quiz, my eyes sparkled and I started to work on the puzzle in haste." Milo said. "I did have a hard time though in the early stages of the quiz as there were more clues than answers."
Whoever knew that a little blue dog would be the key to unlocking the entire puzzle.
"A few months ago, my sister and I came across Nickelodeon while we were surfing channels. They were showing Blue's Clues and they were teaching them color combinations." Milo explained. "To think this was a show made for kids, they were teaching pretty hard stuff. I didn't even know the word 'chartreuse' before the show."
When he saw the clue "Color that is primarily green but has hints of yellow", the word appeared immediately on his mind, and saw that it fit the puzzle. Every word in the puzzle fell into place stemming from the word chartreuse afterwards.
This marks Milo's second first-place win. He has a record of 2 first-place wins, and 1 runner-up. He hopes to be the first team to enter the hall of fame by winning twice in a row.
"After the hall of fame, I'm not sure where to go next. Maybe, I'll join a team with members now, or people would come and form my team."

Hingis beat 16th-seeded Dinara Safina 6-2, 7-5 Sunday in the Italian Open final for the 41st title of her career, but first since winning in Tokyo more than four years ago.
She returned in January after nearly three years out of the game with foot and ankle injuries.
"I lived a different life and experienced a lot of things, and that probably helps me today in those moments," Hingis said.
"If I could turn back time, of course I would have continued to play. But at that point it wasn't possible -- the pain and the operations. Right now, I'm very happy that my health is as good as it is."
After winning the first set in 27 minutes and taking a 4-1 lead in the second, Hingis faced three break points that would have sent the second set to a tiebreaker. But she gathered herself and served the match out.
When Safina's backhand return sailed long, the Swiss player placed her hand on her chest and took a deep breath of relief.
"I know how life is after tennis, and that probably gives me a lot of joy at these moments. I want to save them as much as I can," Hingis said.
The 25-year-old Hingis said the victory boosted her confidence entering the French Open, which starts next Sunday. The Italian Open is a key clay-court warmup for Roland Garros, the only Grand Slam that Hingis hasn't won.
"It's a great victory, but it doesn't end," Hingis said. "This is just the beginning of tough tournaments coming up -- the French Open and Wimbledon."
In the meantime, Hingis plans to reward herself by reverting to her retirement lifestyle for a day or two.
She said she would probably have a glass of wine and not set her alarm clock for Monday morning.
"You know, I haven't been used to doing this for three years," she said. "Now you really have to have this solid life. That's probably my biggest joy for the next couple of days."

Enjoyable Sitti'g
No wonder this album reached the top of the Tower Records charts and very popular amongst the yuppie crowd.
I bought a copy of Sitti's Cafe Bossa Album last May 9th in Music One Greenbelt and listened to it right away in the office. Since then, I have it on loop in my music player.
I do not think that there are any original songs here in this album, but one cannot dismiss it as a cheap knockoff compilation where the artist is using mainstream songs to garner publicity. By the way she sings it all so smoothly, like every note falls into the exact place in the greater scheme of the song, it sounds like she was the one who first sang all these songs. It sounds like she owns the songs. Her renditions of pop hits Tattooed on my Mind, I Didn't Know I was Looking for Love, and Lost in Space would make you even wonder why the original arrangements were not in bossa nova.
It's a very relaxing album, perfect for listening during a hectic day of work or while on vacation. Listening to the album is more effective in relaxing your mind than drinking four gallons of One Ice Tea (One Ice Tea's label: Soothe your body, relax your mind with One Green Tea. And feel the calmness and comfort just washing all the stress away) or relaxing on a recliner watching TV.

The Power is in the Consumer's hands
For Nokia and other units, more often than not, you have to go to a service center/tiangge service center to have the firmware upgraded to the latest version. If you want to do it at home, you have to buy accessories, cables, and find the correct firmware update somewhere in the internet. So usually, owners of such units have to stick with their firmware version with all its bugs, quirks, and what-nots.
This part is where Sony Ericsson phones shine. You can update its firmware in your very own house without an inkling of technological knowledge. All accessories needed are found in the box that comes with your phone purchase. You just have to download an updater software in the official Sony Ericsson website, and it will guide you every step of the way.
Bug killing
In my current firmware version, R1N035, there are quite a number of annoying bugs that need to be fixed. One of the major bugs was the USB transfer bug. This bug can misplace the files, or even go on as corrupting the files and/or the memory stick after transferring the files from the USB cable. Now I knew the reason why some of my files went missing even if I uploaded them to the memory stick several times.
Another bug was this firmware drains the battery more than the other versions by around 20%. This was very noticeable since I had to charge my phone almost every day and a half.
I decided that it is best to do a firmware upgrade on my phone. When I learned that the latest one fixes all of these, and even improves the overall performance of the phone, I said, "Heck, why not? What could possibly go wrong?"

Since my sister hogged the computer the entire night due to her ACLC work, I only had the time to do it in the morning. I've downloaded the updater software yesterday, so I just installed it, did the instructions and all. Unfortunately, it wasn't finished by the time I had to leave for the office so I requested my mom to watch over it, and text me for updates (luckily, I still have my old Nokia phone.)
While I was on the train, my mom texted me a disturbing message that the update failed. I asked my mom to try and turn on the phone, but when she tried, it wouldn't open. I've read stories and complaints about botched Ericsson firmware upgrades, so I feared for the worst. I even consulted the Sony Ericsson personnel in Glorietta if they could repair phones that have been damaged by firmware upgrades.
Bomb Hoax
When I got back home, I quickly tried the phone out. It was working fine. I checked the firmware on the phone, and it said that it had the latest version. I reupgraded again since it may have been a partial upgrade, and after less than twenty minutes, the update was completed without any problems. I tested the phone the entire evening, and I'm happy to say that all the bugs were gone, and I have a slightly faster and better phone performance-wise.
Perfect. Just in time for my company outing to Subic next weekend.

The One (One brain is better than six!)

ACN Bowling Tourney Final Week: Call me Milokovic
This isn't the way to end a spirited run in the bowling tournament. Our team got booted out of the tournament in the first round.
Choke the chicken
I only managed to squeak in a 103 in this round. A far cry from my 120 average, and my 133 average for the tournament. We only lost by a measly 4 pins, and I totally blame myself for that loss. I was regarded as the second-best player in my squad, and I dragged them all down. In that round, I was the lowest among all the players we've fielded in. The pressure got to me so bad that I was missing all the easy shots that I used to make during the regular games.
And then they come
Since we were booted early, our team had four extra games which we can play around with. I only played in two games due to my disappointment with the earlier results, and I produced a 150 and a 173 in these "no-pressure" games that you wouldn't believe that I'm capable of throwing a 103 like what I did in the first round. Now that I've found my weakness, this is something I should work on for future bowling tournaments.
My secret weapon
The games had no bearing to our overall standing in the tournament, so I decided to play around and practice my secret weapon that I will unleash in the future. However, it is still inconsistent that I decided to not use this during the tournament. Yes, I made balls go down the gutter during the practice, but I've increased its success rate to about 50% now. When done correctly, it more or less produces a strike. My captain told me to develop that technique because it will be a very potent weapon if I master it.
Hopefully, I can throw it perfectly when another tournament comes my way. I'm aiming a 150 and up average from now on since my past games have proven that I can indeed do it with the straight ball. With the addition of this new technique, it maybe reachable sooner than I think.

Since we were booted early, our team had four extra games which we can play around with. I only played in two games due to my disappointment with the earlier results, and I produced a 150 and a 173 in these "no-pressure" games that you wouldn't believe that I'm capable of throwing a 103 like what I did in the first round. Now that I've found my weakness, this is something I should work on for future bowling tournaments.
My secret weapon
The games had no bearing to our overall standing in the tournament, so I decided to play around and practice my secret weapon that I will unleash in the future. However, it is still inconsistent that I decided to not use this during the tournament. Yes, I made balls go down the gutter during the practice, but I've increased its success rate to about 50% now. When done correctly, it more or less produces a strike. My captain told me to develop that technique because it will be a very potent weapon if I master it.
Hopefully, I can throw it perfectly when another tournament comes my way. I'm aiming a 150 and up average from now on since my past games have proven that I can indeed do it with the straight ball. With the addition of this new technique, it maybe reachable sooner than I think.

Comfortable: Gone
It's almost six days already since they implemented the segregation scheme in MRT Line 3. While it has brought heaven to mainly women, it is slowly surpassing hell for the other people who take the train as well.
I'm sure the women who benefited a lot from this scheme couldn't relate because they have one, sometimes two or even three "cars" delegated to them. You could see the male populace turn green with envy as the first cars roll in and they see the wide-open space, then suddenly change to despair once the next cars roll by. This is heaven for women, heaven to the point that they could put up a disco ball in the middle and dance the night away due to the "emptiness" of these "cars" You would rarely see more than 15 women standing there inside.
A whole "car" can actually hold up to 70-90 passengers. But I just found out, that a car consists of three small "cars", so you can more or less triple that number. Since the first car is blocked off, these "lost" passengers now have to fight over the remaining ones. Since April 1, I've never gone home anymore where I could just walk in, have my bag checked, go down to the platform and ride the next train that comes by. Now, I have to wait 10-20 minutes just to get in the train (lines are snaking in the station), and wait another 20 minutes to luckily ride the train (yes, luckily). Before, this only happens during Mondays and Fridays as expected, but now, it happens everyday. I almost missed my meeting at home due to this last Tuesday, because I had to wait 5 trains after before I got a chance to ride one.
While I was riding the MRT earlier, one angrily commented that he'd rather take the bus now due to this change. It was hell earlier, with the aircon barely working, and the car crammed to its utmost capacity. If this trend continues, there could be a significant drop in the MRT ticket sales. Tempers were pretty high earlier, a lot of pushing and raised voices were said and done. And of course, there were quite a number of cases of missed stations because the door closed before the alighting passenger could make his way to the walls of people.
The other day, I heard about an angry passenger who had problems with his ticket. Apparently, he bought the ticket in the station he got in, had to line up for a long time and wait for a long time on the platform. Due to this, his ticket expired. MRT3 rules state that "Passengers must exit within 75 minutes (allowable stay) from the time of entry. Additional charge equivalent to the maximum fare shall be required for overstaying." I didn't know how it ended, but if a passenger is forced to pay this "violation fee" because of the effects of this new scheme, then that would not be right. It can be viewed as a scheme to extract more money from the passengers. It may be a rarity now, but who knows, there might be more cases like that in the future.
Use what is delegated.I believe that they are delegating too many cars for their consumption, but since they (MRT Peeps) do not want men mixing with women, maybe they should prevent women riding alone from riding in the other cars. That way, these women traveling alone do not waste the space delegated for them in the first car, and consume the space for the unlucky non-female, non-elderly, non-children, non-disabled passengers.
Rules differ from each station. The special cars are for the kids, elderly, disabled and women. Now, Homosexuals are debatable. Fathers with their kids sometimes can go in, sometimes cannot. Girlfriends with their boyfriends are sometimes allowed in, sometimes not. Will girls need to suffer because of their boyfriends, or will they need to separate for the duration of the train ride? Will families need to break up as well, or let women and their kids suffer the same crushing fate? And when are male elders old enough? Case in point, a man managed to ride in the women's car a station before him. When it arrived in Cubao, a police search was made in the first car, found him, and forced him out to the back of the long line.

ACN Bowling Tourney 3rd Week: No fooling around
We faced our fellow projectmates in this week's bowling tournament. I felt a bit left out, I suppose, since all of them belong to the same team in the project. I was an "import" ala PBA Basketball.
What do PBA teams expect from their imports? Assist the team by being one of the, if not, the best player in the team. He is a better athlete over-all supposedly, or else, they'll send him packing. The funny thing is about PBA, is that when the team loses, it's always the import's fault. Seeing the high mortality rate of imports, an import needs to showcase his best every game.
If I was the import in this team, lucky for me, they still have fate in my abilities even if I showed up with some nasty scores back then.
This time, everything felt right. With my lucky shirt on, and a cute cap with a lizard on it (brought for a good luck mascot), I was determined to make an impact this week. I knew everyone would be noisy, friendly jeers will be thrown at each other, but this time around, I felt like a warrior ready for battle.
[i]My average for this tournament is 122.85, or 123 if you want to round it up. My average for the past 30 bowling games I had (that's when I started tracking) is 121.9, or 122 if rounded up.[/i].
This week, I played four games and scored 133, 127, 179 & 168. Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! (ala Emeril)
The only downside to this performance is my handicap will go down, and I will be pressured to put on the same performance next week. Oh well. If I can do it this week, I can do it next week, and hopefully, even better.

Flushed Out
My run for the top spot in the Poker Tournament has finally come to an end.
In the semi-finals, I only placed second in our table thus eliminating me from the competition. My opponent was so lucky that 7 times out of 10, he would get a straight.

ACN Bowling Tourney 2nd Week: Bowled out?
I did not know what it was, but I felt that something wasn't quite right.
As I carried my bowling ball in my hands, it felt quite heavy, something that I've never felt before when using it.
Lethargy. That must've been it.
Maybe it was due to lack of sleep, or too much stress from work, but I couldn't play right.
And my scores for today show that I ran out of gas. It was something that never happened before. I know I can go on for 6 straight games, maybe even more, but this day was different.
My first game was 143, second 131, then 102. I decided to sit out the fourth game because I felt that I couldn't go on. My arm felt limp, like when you are down with high fever.
Our team split the four games. We did, however, have a really good game where we reached above 679 pinfalls, so we had 40 extra bonus points to go along with the win.
I'm expecting a better ranking for us after this week though. Our team, as a whole, did much better than last week.

ACN Bowling Tourney 1st Week: First day Jitters
Frustration set in as I seemingly couldn't get the lanes correctly. Instead of the average of 110-120, in my first two games, I scored an 108 and 99 respectively. This isn't me. My bowling average says so.
The third game almost went that path too. If it weren't for the three consecutive strikes (Yes, a turkey! Oohh, minor prize for me!) in the 10th frame, my score would've barely grazed the 100 mark again. I ended with a 141 for the third game. My final game for week one had me scoring 136.
We won the first game, lost the next two, and won the final one in a catch-up style. The final game had us down by around 30-40 pins in the eighth frame due to their extremely large handicap (they should fix mine, they gave me a handicap that screams "I average a 150!" ). We fought back with closed frames, and I got a strike at the 10th frame. This caused a close fight with the opponent leading by a mere 5 pins on the last frame of our final bowler. He did one better, and scored a spare 7.
We almost won the third game too if our final bowler had made the spare-6. Unfortunately, he left it open.
But it was a good first week for our team, and for me. I look forward to next week since I seemingly have gotten hold of the lane. I am expecting to have better and higher scores come next Saturday.

Say Hello to my Little Pet
Call me childish, too old, having a second childhood or anything. But I don't care. This second generation of the fad that swept the country a few years back, Tamagotchi, is still so cool, and I got one today.
Now called Tamagotchi Connexion, it has now upgraded to V3, which is the one that I have. I got myself the silver design. It's main feature is the use of the IR (infrared) device, which can connect to others who have Tamagotchi Connexions as well for their pets to play games, visit one another, make friends or even have babies! It also makes use of secret codes, codes that you can pick up while exploring Tamatown (http://www.tamatown.com). It has different types of food, I think 6 mini-games, a replenishing shop, a tally of friends, a lot of items that can be won or bought, and more.
Compared to the first ever Tamagotchi, this one is much more addicting, although the fad has died here in the Philippines. In other countries though, according to reports, it is still selling strong, like in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and some parts of the United States.
This new Tamagotchi brings back memories of when I was given before a Tamagotchi-knock off dinosaur watch. Although it has the nifty watch strap that enables you to turn it into a watch if needed (great excuse to bring this toy to school), it has even less features than the original Tamagotchi. Like they say, nothing beats the original.

Less than a week to go
I will participate in a bowling tournament, 8am - 12nn at the Makati Cinema Square. If you want to watch, come along.
Originally, I didn't plan to join, but a project-mate needed members, and he asked me so I accepted the invitation.
After the last tournament, it's been more than 3 weeks since I last held a bowling ball and played again. So here I am, back to the alleys again. I played earlier with my parents in Sta. Lucia Mall. It was my first and probably only practice for my upcoming game this Saturday.
It is interesting though how my game seemed to have improved after having my own ball.

It was my highest score ever, and it was the first time I got a turkey (That's three strikes in a row if you don't know). I should've gotten a 200+ for that, but I missed the remaining pin in my last frame. However, it's still 181, and if I do that kind of performance in the tournament, wow, I'd probably be getting prizes for being the top scorer for the week. We are not professional bowlers anyway, and no one averages a 200.
So good luck to me, my team, and hope we make it to the next rounds, and possibly the championship!

Lucky Lucky Lucky!
I just got home straight from the card table. From being down early in the game up to the final round, I managed to win my table in our Interproject Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament! This gave me an instant pass to the semifinals to be held sometime soon.
It was my first time to play a real Texas Hold 'Em Poker game. Probably Beginner's luck can be attributed to this. The only knowledge I have of Texas Hold 'Em is via watching the Poker Tournaments on the television, and playing with my favorite, Gus Hansen, in a computer game.
When it came to the final two, I was facing a big deficit of almost 1:5 ratio with the blinds at 1000-2000. Two lucky all-in hands quadrupled my hoard of chips.
First was an all-in of 3-7. I paired a three in the turn, and luckily he didn't make any, even if his hand was technically stronger at first.
Second all-in came when I had a 5-5 at hand, and the flop produced another five and two other number cards. I acted a bit, and I just called the pot, and he called back. Another card entered, which was of no use to me, and I went all in, and he called my all in. When the hands were shown, I had a trio which beats his two pair. Lucky. I would've call that two if I had two pair.
Final showdown came when he called all-in this time around.

The veterans took the first few rounds by storm, but one overbluffed himself, whileas the other one just got unlucky with the girl who won on the river everytime she went all-in.

The touring Superstars of RAW were caught amid an escalating political crisis Friday, as the president of the Philippines locked down the country after what was declared a failed attempt to overthrow the leader from power.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo called for a state of emergency and the military went to high alert, fortifying the presidential palace and arresting demonstrators celebrating the 20th anniversary of the fall of former dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
WWE Champion John Cena, Triple H, Women’s Champion Trish Stratus and many other WWE Superstars were asked to stay in groups and when possible remain in their hotel rooms because of the chaos and potential for violence. Citizens were told that all rallies and protests were banned and would lead to more arrests. By late afternoon, thousands were in the streets in defiance of the government’s orders, according to multiple media reports.
Despite the danger, 15,000 determined WWE fans braved the streets and filled the Araneta Coliseum for a successful RAW live event in Manila. There were no reports of violence at the venue, and all WWE Superstars and personnel have since safely left Manila, WWE.com confirmed by phone.

- Foley says Edge and Lita kissing was the most disgusting thing he has seen in his life.
- Foley caught Lita choking Cena on the ropes on the third time she did it causing her ejection.
- Edge speared Mick Foley, speared another ref. Major fantasy points :)
- Fans were having a battle of their own. "Let's go Cena" chants immediately followed by "Let's go Edge!" chants. Of course, I was with the Edge guys. I'm after all, the Rated R superstar.

- To everyone's dismay, no sledgehammer was produced and used. Triple H only used a cord, steel steps and a steel chair. What a weaponless street fight.
- Triple H entrance was awesome. One lucky fan even got his water bottle when he threw it ringside.
- Triple H received an overwhelming response from the crowd as if he was the babyface among the two.
- Triple H won after Show lands on the steel steps and Triple H hits Show with a chair. A "con-chair-to" "con-stair-to" type.
Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin vs. Ric Flair.
- Shelton and Ric Flair each cut their own promos. Shelton reiterating that he wasn't a momma's boy causing the crowd to chant "Momma's Boy" over and over the entire match. Ric Flair saying that Momma has a big fat ass, and isn't here because they couldn't fit her in the plane. Flair also spoke about his love for Filipina women, and that he will be with 5 Filipina women tonight.
- "Whoooo!" were heard repeatedly. A lot of people brought "whooooo!" signs as well.
- Shelton used a figure four on Flair, Flair reversed it.
- Bad ending in my opinion. Shelton and Flair chased each other outside the ring. Shelton slid in the ring, as Flair slid in, Shelton rolled up Flair, and used the ropes as leverage to get the three count.
Rob Van Dam vs. Carlito
- RVD's frog splash looks real better live. He won using it too.
- Carlito was playing to the crowd that he was going to throw his shirt as a gift to the crowd. Then he went out of the ring, circled the barricades, and went backstage to leave his shirt there. This turned the Carlito chants into "Asshole" chants.
- Everyone was doing the RVD taunt. People in the crowd though didn't know when to show "RVD" or "Rob Van Dam".
Women's Champion Trish Stratus vs. Torrie Wilson
- Trish won via chick kick. The Matrix looked real good!
- Trish spanked Torrie after the match.
- Botched move: Trish was going for the Stratusphere, she came up short, and Torrie had to grab the legs and put it around her neck.
Viscera vs. Gene Snitsky
- Damn, Vis is big. He won with the Samoan drop.
- My eyes are burning! He gave Snitsky a wedgie and did the visagra.
Val Venis vs. Chris Masters
- Chris attempted the the Masterlock twice. He finally won by it too.
- Chris is a comedy man. He flexed his muscles, his chest, and his stomach! Crowd laughed.
- Venis gave a towel to a little girl.
- Chris has loads of appeal to the Manila crowd. Even more than Venis.
Eugene vs. Tyson Tomko. Maria was special guest announcer
- I love Maria! Whew!
- Eugene won via stunner. We were playing a game to see which finishing move Eugene will employ.
- Eugene wore a Team Pacquiao jacket as he came into the ring.
- Eugene was funny all throughout the match. He bit Tomko's butt, rode him like a horse, did the "Lady in the Lake" move, irish whipped Tomko while Eugene ran in the perpendicular motion, and others.
